One of the things that makes credit unions different from banks and other types of financial institutions is that they operate under a "non-profit" status.
Volunteer Board of Directors
The credit union is operated by a volunteer Board or Directors and Supervisory Committee. Any credit union member in good standing is eligible to run for any of these important offices.
Who Can Join?
All employees and retirees of the following companies and their family members (parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, and in-laws) can join the credit union:
- Laclede Gas Company
- Laclede Gas Building
- Missouri Athletic Club
- Comfort Companies
- Magna Visual
- Missouri Machinery
- Missouri Natural Gas
- Media Club
- Anyone who resides or works in the following Postal Zip Codes:
How Do I Join?
There is no fee to join the credit union. Membership simply requires a deposit of $25 or more into a Share (savings) account. Complete and return the Membership Application to the credit union with an initial deposit of at least $25.
Once you make a deposit of $25 or more into a Share (savings) account, you become a member / owner. You then have an interest -- and a vote -- in how the credit union is operated.
All Accounts Federally Insured
All accounts at Laclede Family Savings Credit Union are insured to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, and are backed by the full faith and the credit of the United States government.
